The barrier zone was arisen from interxylary phloem. Barrier zone in different thickness located between agarwood zone and transition zone. The barrier zone was formed of abnormal parenchyma and xylem. Barrier zone contained a small amount of starch and more total sugar. Our results might be used to eliminate and delay the barrier zone, and improve whole-tree agarwood-inducing technique. %U https://bbr.nefu.edu.cn/EN/10.7525/j.issn.1673-5102.2016.05.010
