%X Based on the study of specimens and field observations, <em>Parakmeria</em> Hu &amp; Cheng was revised in the paper.The brief taxonomic history was given, the reasons for conserving <em>Parakmeria</em> Hu &amp; Cheng was expounded.Section <em>Gynopodium</em> of <em>Magnolia</em> Linn. subgenus <em>Gynopodium</em> Figlar &amp; Noot. Was regarded as a new synonym of <em>Parakmeria</em> Hu &amp; Cheng, <em>Magnolia yunnanensis</em> (Hu) Noot. and <em>M. nitida</em> W. W. Smith var. <em>robusta</em> B. L. Chen &amp; Noot. as new synonyms of <em>Parakmeria yunnanensis</em> Hu, <em>Magnolia omeiensis</em> (Cheng) Dandy, <em>M. lotungensis</em> Chun &amp; C. H. Tsoong, <em>M. nitida</em> W. W. Smith var. <em>lotungensis</em> (Chun &amp; C. H. Tsoong) B. L. Chen &amp; Noot. and <em>Parakmeria lotungensis</em> (Chun &amp; C. H. Tsoong) Law as new synonyms of <em>Parakmeria omeiensis</em> Cheng. Four species were recognized, keyed and described in the genus.
